Travel information about Historical City of Lviv

Lviv is a city in western Ukraine. It is a very old city. Lviv is one of the main cultural centres of Ukraine. The city has many cultural institutions: historical monuments, theatres and opera, museums, art galleries, parks. And Lviv’s architecture is arresting. There are a lot of historic churches, buildings and relics. Today Lviv attracts thousands of visitors, tourists and foreigners.

Shechenko’s Hai is one of the favourite places of Lviv, it is very calm and quiet. Lviv’s tourists like to visit this attraction. Shevchenko's Hai is also called Kaiserwald (translated from German"the king's forest.") The park got this name after a Joseph’s Caesar visit.
One of the attractions of Shevchenko’s Hai is an open-air museum, named "The Museum of Folk Architecture and Life." The Museum perfectly blends with park’s landscape.

Walking in Shevchenko’s Hai, it seems to you are in the Carpathians. The wooden houses of the XIX century like take us to the century before last. Wooden buildings and churches that are typical for Lviv region and interesting with architectural solutions were carefully transferred to Shevchenko's Hai from different points of the Ukraine and Galicia.
